Dear Mr. Alpaugh:

We propose to undertake a small research project on computer vision
beginning on or after 1 July 1974 and continuing for about five months
at a cost of $5,000.  The purpose of this project will be to study
and test techneques for obtaining visual navigation information from
television cameras.  The principal product will be one or more reports
on our findings.

The bulk of the effort will be performed by Hans Moravec, a graduate
student in Computer Science, with supervision from Dr. Lynn Quam and
Prof. John McCarthy.  A budget is attached.
